Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director, Patient Financial Services, the Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and managing the day to day operations for PAS-Main and PAS-ED. This includes all admitting, registration, financial counseling, and pre and concurrent insurance verification, as well as switchboard functions. Additionally, personnel performing admitting and registration function in departments other than PAS Main and PAS ED have dotted line reporting responsibility to this position.
Licensure and Certification:
- Certifications, training seminars as available in job-related Association, The Advisory Board, CHA, NAHAM. etc.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in hospital, medical and/or related field related to admission and/or registration processes.
- Three (3) to five (5) years in a supervisory capacity in the same or similar field.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with staff through mentoring and progressive discipline
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, recognizes problematic situations, implements solutions, adapts to change, and promotes and gains trust both inter/intra departmentally.
- Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
- Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
- Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
- Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
- Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
