As a Pastry Cook 1 you will be compensated $26.25 hourly.
What you'll do
You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:
- You will be responsible for reviewing production sheets to understand a variety of projects to be executed for the day and foresight of the upcoming week. This will include reviewing temperature charts, ensuring MSDA sheets are prepared, and maintaining all cleanliness standards. In addition, Pastry Cook 1 will prepare and cook baked goods according to recipes, maintain quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists. They maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance, all to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
- You’ll also lead amongst the Pastry Cooks. With technical knowledge, creativity, and innovation, they bridge the line team members and leadership through strong communication, coaching, and oversight. Entrusted with production and execution, thinking outside of the box aids in maintaining relevance and continued growth for the team. A Pastry Cook 1 also ensures adherence to DC Core Standards and required Health and Food Safety Regulations.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
