Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team at Venus Spirits. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious burger buns and rolls, focaccia, sweet pies, pizza dough, and desserts for both restaurants and Venus Pie Trap. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and contribute to creating memorable dining experiences for our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a wide range of doughs, pies, and desserts according to recipes and quality standards
- Monitor baking process to ensure proper cooking times and temperatures
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items based on seasonal changes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely production of pastry items
- Coordinate with the Venus team to fulfill special orders or requests
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in the food industry
- Solid knowledge of pastry production techniques
- Proficient in using kitchen equipment, such as mixers, ovens, and knives
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Creativity and artistic flair in pastry presentation

About Venus Spirits Cocktails and Kitchen:
Founded in 2013 by Sean Venus, Venus Spirits is located in Santa Cruz, California. Venus Spirits currently produces certified organic, small-batch spirits including Wayward Whiskey, Venus Spirits Gin, Aquavit, Vodka, El Ladrón Blue Agave Spirits, and a line of Ready To Drink Canned Cocktails. Venus Cocktails and Kitchen Westside opened in August of 2020. The 100-seat restaurant is focused around a cocktail experience utilizing various Venus Spirits distilled spirits and is complemented by an assortment of from-scratch snacks, small plates, fresh salads, and sharable entrees.
