Since 1958, Douglass Truck Bodies Inc. has manufactured some of the highest quality utility bodies in the industry. We are looking to add an outgoing, intelligent, highly-motivated members to our team who can help us continue to grow while maintaining the company’s high standards of customer satisfaction.

Currently, we are taking applications for candidates capable of helping customers with parts and repair projects, as well as assisting the sales team with day-to-day operations.

Job Summary:
As a Parts Specialist for Douglass Truck Bodies, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing, procurement, and inventory of parts essential for the assembly and customization of truck bodies. Your role will involve coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of parts, and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels. Your attention to detail, knowledge of truck body components, and ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal teams will contribute to the efficient operation and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Parts Sourcing and Procurement:
• Identify and source parts required for truck body assembly and customization projects based on specifications provided by clients and internal teams.
• Research suppliers, negotiate pricing, and establish relationships to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of quality parts.
• Place orders with approved suppliers and follow up to expedite deliveries as needed.
• Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including stock levels, reorder points, and lead times.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure optimal stock levels to support production schedules.
• Utilize inventory management software to track and manage parts inventory effectively.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Collaborate with the production team to understand project requirements and prioritize parts procurement accordingly.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, track order status, and resolve any issues or delays in delivery.
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving personnel to ensure timely receipt and inspection of incoming parts.
• Quality Assurance:
• Inspect incoming parts for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards.
• Work closely with the quality control team to address any issues or discrepancies identified during the inspection process.
• Maintain documentation related to part specifications, quality inspections, and supplier certifications.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to streamline parts procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and advancements in truck body components and accessories.
• Provide input and recommendations for process improvements and participate in team meetings to discuss ideas and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in parts management, inventory control, or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of truck body components, parts, and accessories, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
