Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is looking for a Payroll Office Administrative Assistant for a construction subcontractor in North Sacramento. The position will provide clerical and supportive for Field Personnel and management. This position is 30-32 hours a week Monday-Thursday 6am-230pm, with some possible Fridays when needed
Responsibilities and Duties
- New Hire Applications – Assist new hires with completing paperwork, review and verify documents (I-9’s and W-4’s etc.), submit to Corporate Payroll Dept. for processing. Follow up with Employees and Field Personnel on obtaining required documents. Review Timecard Hourly calculations, Verify Project Numbers and Task Code.
- Clerical Support - Assist Field Personnel with Job Files and Budget Reports. Gather paperwork from Field Personnel such as Material Receipts, Purchase Order Backup information and Builder Paperwork.
- Enter daily Inventory transfer sheets and code to Projects. Prepare, log, and compile paperwork for Safety Department.
- General Office - Duties include organizing and setting up files, provide support for Superintendents, Field Personnel, and Owners. Answer phones, maintain office and supplies, photo copying, etc.
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Must have excellent attendance and be punctual.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred- but not required
- Prior work experience in a business office minimum of 5 to 7 years. Prior experience in Construction industry or Cost coding a plus
- Individual who has prior experience with Payroll Data Entry, New Hire Paperwork, I-9 Form, California Daily Overtime rules would be an optimal candidate.
- Good grammar and writing skills, detail oriented, organized and a self-starter
- Accuracy is essential and the ability to review one’s work is important – excellent Math skills
- Ability to follow through with weekly Tasks and communicate status with Manager-must meet deadlines
- Proficient in office administrative tasks including, scanning, and e-mailing documents, accounting databases and Microsoft office Suite.
- Ability to communicate well with various individuals including Home Builders, Superintendents, Field Employees, Vendors, New Employees, Safety Dept., and Corporate Office Personnel.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
