Parts Inventory Clerk

Organizational Structure and Working Relationships

Employee reports directly to the Chief Engineer and Department Managers; and is working closely with all plant personnel, upper management and outside vendors.

Position Purpose and Nature of Work

While complying with GMP, sanitation, safety, and company operating requirements; the Parts/Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing the facility spare parts and consumables, organization, inventory, purchasing and receiving using the computer maintenance management system (CMMS) program. Additionally, the clerk will be responsible for entering equipment preventative maintenance and safety procedures into the CMMS program. The clerk is also responsible for producing the various reports generated by the CMMS program to include work order generating, reviewing, and closing.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Organize, inventory, purchase and receive parts and supplies used in all areas of the plant using the CMMS program.

2. Enter equipment preventative maintenance procedures in the CMMS program.

3. Enter equipment safety procedures in the CMMS program.

4. Generate CMMS program reports as requested.

5. Assist with the work order generating and reporting module.

6. Maintain a clean working environment.

7. Promote and monitor department safety program.

8. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

1. Ability to read, write and speak in English.

2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in and outside the company.

3. Ability to use the computer and learn new computer programs.

4. Ability to determine equipment parts requirement.

5. Knowledge of processing equipment maintenance and repair including hydraulic, electrical, steam and refrigeration systems, product handling equipment and conveyors.

6. The ability to follow SOPs.

7. The ability to work safely.

Education and Experience

High school education or equivalent in the dairy or food processing industry.

Microsoft Suite Expert

Microsoft Excel proficiency

Prior experience in ordering/maintaining inventory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
