City Experiences is seeking a Part Time Ticket Agent for our RiverLink Ferry operation in Philadelphia, PA and Camden, NJ.
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.
About the Opportunity:
The Ticket Agent performs ticket sales for the RiverLink ferry operation and applicable cash handing, all while providing an exceptional customer service experience to ferry riders. The Ticket Agent ensures the ticket booth and applicable areas surrounding it are kept clean.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Remain true to and champion the RESPECT Service System and Code of Conduct.
  • Safety First - Safety shall remain the highest priority at all times. Be an active advocate of, and participant in, the HMS Ferries Safety Culture.
  • Consider reliability and efficiency with regard to Company operations.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of all phases of safety procedures and knowledge of location and use of all firefighting and safety equipment (i.e. fire extinguishers, life preservers, work vest).
  • Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Handle and dispose of all chemicals and other types of hazardous or caustic materials in compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) (as required).
  • Report safety related concerns to the Captain on Duty and/or General Manager.
  • Perform Ferry ticket sales while providing outstanding guest service
  • Effectively interact with the public to deliver excellent customer service
  • Perform cleaning tasks of the ticket booth & property as required
  • Maintain waiting area to the highest levels of cleanliness in accordance with Company and client standards
  • Perform daily inspections of the dock and passenger waiting area near the vessel to ensure cleanliness and safety; take immediate corrective action as necessary.
  • Understand the Employee Handbook and adhere to policies.
  • Be a RESPECT Service System example for others.
  • Maintain Crew Qualification binder.
  • Understand and comply with the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Understand and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with other HMS personnel to remain attentive to regulatory requirements and alert to regulatory changes.
  • Present professional level of customer service and appearance to all clients, both internal and externally.
  • Responsible for handling money and balancing deposits/money bags; perform deposits within guidelines provided by General Manager
  • Ensure required administrative forms are completed clearly and accurately.
  • Ensure all receipts are accounted for.
  • Generate settlement and recap reports as required.
  • Report number and passenger count to Captain on each departure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Copy of DD214, if Veteran status
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with the public
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly-changing environment
  • Ability to process calculations frequently and continuously
  • Basic computer skills
  • Minimum one-year cash handling experience, preferably in retail environment
  • Familiar with cash registers
  • Customer Service experience
  • Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The majority of work is performed in an indoor environment with a moderate noise level. At times, some work may be performed in outdoor conditions with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions, along with a moderate to loud noise level.
  • Ability to stand and walk on nearly a constant basis
  • Ability to sit frequently
  • Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
  • Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 25 lbs.
  • Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely
  • Ability to manipulate/handle/grip materials required to perform job
  • Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel
  • Must be able to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties associated with job
  • Must be capable of performing emergency duties as listed in the vessel's station bill
