Typical schedule will be M-F, 10am to 2pm.
Position Summary: The Teller is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing and recording routine transactions for credit union members, including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and money transfers. Also promotes and advises on the credit union's products and services.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 Years customer service experience preferred
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office Products
- Proficient at 10-key calculator
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; Detail-oriented
- Demonstrated/verifiable ability to maintain high standards in areas of accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation, data entry, and correspondence
- Demonstrated/verifiable ability to work effectively as a member of a team; Ability to provide exceptional service to credit union members, employees, and management
- Demonstrated/verifiable ability to work independently and exercise initiative and judgment to make sound business decisions with little to no direct supervision

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- · Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work environment with moderate noise
- Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Must be capable of occasionally climbing/descending a ladder or stairs
- Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator
- Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day
- Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management
- Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance
Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service to members by constantly and consistently presenting a positive attitude and cheerful demeanor
- Receive and count working cash at beginning of shift
- Identify members, validate and cash checks
- Accept cash and checks for deposit and check accuracy of deposit slip
- Process cash withdrawals
- Perform specialized tasks such as preparing cashier's checks
- Perform services for members such as ordering debit cards and checks
- Receive, verify, and post loan payments
- Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with credit union policies and procedures
- Balance currency, cash and checks in cash drawer at end of each shift
- Attempt to resolve issues and problems with member's accounts
- Explain, advise, answer inquires on, and promote credit union products and services to members
- Ensure compliance with all state/federal regulations, internal controls and established policies and procedures
- Assist in other areas of the credit union as needed
