Parkview, Gladiola, Oriole Park and West Elementary: June 5 - June 29 (Monday - Thursday) - 4 positions, 1 at each building
- Breakfast/Lunch M-Th 9:00am - 1:00pm - 4 hours per day
- Breakfast/Lunch M-Th 8:30am - 12:30pm - 4 hours per day
- Breakfast/Lunch M-Th 7:30am - 12:00pm - 4.5 hours per day
- Breakfast/Lunch M-Th 8:30am - 12:00pm - 4 hours per day
PAY RATE
$20.00/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes prep work, serving, and dish washing.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. ServeSafe certificaiton preferred (required for Leads)
2. Possess reading, writing, and math skills - minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Cooking and/or baking experience or the ability to learn.
4. Ability to work well with students and staff.
5. Knowledge of proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
6. Ordering/inventory/cash handling ability/receiving/stocking.
7. Must have a professional appearance.
8. Must be dependable - good attendance record.
9. Must be in good physical condition.
10. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
11. May be required to pass a physical examination.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
1. Promotes students and staff satisfaction through merchandising meals in an attractive manner and addressing customer complaint sand suggestions in a timely and positive manner.
2. Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance, documentation of holding and serving temperatures.
3. Assists with the planning of production schedules, ordering and thaw lists.
4. Performs a variety of cleaning duties, which includes, but not limited to, cleaning and sanitizing serving lines and preparation areas, washing dishes and cleaning cafeteria tables and general cleaning responsibilities.
5. Handles Food Service department funds in accordance with the District's cash handling policies and procedures.
6. Accurately enter information at point of service. Accepts money for all items purchased, makes change and balances the cash drawer at the end of the meal period.
7. Assists with incoming deliveries of food and supplies from all vendors, organizes storage areas and rotates stock.
8. Adheres to sanitation and safety practices, which comply with State, County, District and OSHA requirement and codes, which includes, but is not limited to the
receiving, storing, handling, preparing and serving of food products, and the general cleaning and sanitizing of the kitchen, Food Service equipment supplies and utensils.
9. Adheres to compliance of the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs by adhering to all USDA, MDE and District and health department rules and regulations.
10. Works closely with the parents, staff, students and Food Service team to provide excellent service throughout the District.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Food Service Manager.
Note: Pursuant to PA 131, the selected candidate must receive clearance, from the Michigan State Police Department, prior to the offer of employment. The candidate is responsible for the background check fee.
