Part-Time Office Assistant

Alaska Wildlife Guide LLC is one of the interior’s most successful tour companies. Our guests come from all over the world to experience the beauty of Alaska and especially to see the northern lights in the winter. We are looking for an experienced Office Assistant to join our small team here in North Pole to assist in taking tour bookings, preparing lunch and snack bags for tours and assisting with the day to day running of the business as required.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate would have experience in:

• Taking phone bookings from customers and partners for our tours
• Processing credit card payments and being able to apply discounts
• Providing excellent customer service, especially under pressure
• Using the Microsoft suite of products and the Fareharbor booking system, or be able to learn it quickly
• Dealing with people of different ethnicities and cultures, especially where English is a second language
• Dealing with difficult and challenging customers

You will also have:

• Excellent communication skills and phone manner
• Good organization and time management skills
• A good work ethic and be reliable

Hours

We will need you to work Wednesday to Friday during the summer months and Thursday to Saturday from end of August when our winter season starts. Monday to Friday is 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturdays are more flexible, depending on workload and tours going out. There may be opportunity to work additional days/hours if another team member is on leave or there is additional workload.

Pay

Starting rate will be $16/hr.
