Job Summary:
We are a collection agency looking for a part-time Mail Clerk who can assist us with processing and sending mail. We would need the Mail Clerk to come in daily. We envision this role to be for 20 -25 hours a week (4-5 hours on weekdays).
This job will require abilities to analyze customer correspondence and conversations, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and excel within a team environment. This position would be perfect for a recent high school grad looking for a start on their career or a college student looking for part-time work. Additional non-mail handling responsibilities would be available for the right candidate.
Mail Clerk Key Responsibilities:
- Open, process, scan, and file mail consistently and efficiently.
- Generate and send large volumes of mail daily.
- Be accountable and take ownership of tasks assigned.
- Communicate effectively with our offshore office.
- Respond to consumers clearly and respectfully.
- Check and respond to emails and interoffice messages.
- Be open to taking on tasks in addition to the ones outlined above.
- Own a car and have a license in order to be able to drive to and from the Post Office daily.
Preferred Skills:
- Attention to detail is the most important quality we are looking for.
- Good work ethic – show up on time and ready to work, stay late if needed.
- Familiarity with the postal system.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office (Excel and Word).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Have a social and positive attitude, we value a good cultural fit.
- No experience is required.
- Adaptability to the current organizational and procedural systems in place.
- Self-sufficient—while this is a team-oriented office, a lot of the work will be completed solo.
