Job Title: Part-Time Legal Assistant (In-Office Position; No Remote Work Allowed)
Type of Compensation: Hourly (rate to be determined based on level of experience)
Days/hours of work: Monday - Thursday (5 hours/day)
Job Duties
- Administrative tasks, such as court filings, mailings, putting together binders, case management, file management, data entry and scheduling client meetings
- Filling in templates of legal documents
- Proofreading documents
The candidate must:
- Have either a Bachelors degree from a reputable, 4-year university or at least 10 years’ experience working at a professional office with 2 good references
- Have at least 2 years of experience working at a law firm
- Have the ability to commute to an office in West LA (possibility that the office will move to the South Bay in 2025)
- Be extremely detail oriented with a sharp eye for proofreading (typos should make you cringe)
- Have strong organizational skills to be able to manage dozens of cases at once
- Be able to converse comfortably and patiently with the elderly
While not necessary, it would be great if the candidate:
- Has experience with estate planning, trust administration and probate matters
- Has experience with corporate formations
- Is proficient in Japanese and/or is familiar with Japanese culture
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
