This is a flexible and remote part-time position working 20 hours per week. This role is benefits eligible and is a great opportunity for someone who wants to have a big impact within a small company, while maintaining a flexible work/life schedule. The Role
We are currently recruiting for a part-time HR Generalist to join our team. As an HR Generalist you will play a key role in our growing team responsible for hiring, onboarding and offboarding, policies, benefits and more, reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Primary Tasks & Responsibilities
The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Support the recruitment process by assisting in the creation of job descriptions, scheduling and interviewing, conducting reference checks, issuing offers, and onboarding team members efficiently.
- Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing guidance on HR-related matters.
- Performance Management: Work closely with managers on 360 performance reviews, including goal setting (OKRs) and growth plans.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, staying informed about changes and updates in HR practices. Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's values and goals, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs within the organization and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and development.
- Benefits Administration: Partner with benefits broker to support open enrollment, new employee enrollments, offboarding, and system updates.
- General Administration: Maintain employee files and records on HRIS.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems (like Bamboo).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Mission-aligned with Leanpath sustainability and food waste goals.
- Experience in a growing or startup environment is a plus.
