Part Time Greenhouse Production Assistant

Garden Solutions is a fast growing, outcome oriented, team focused company seeking an individual to fill a year round staff position.

Greenhouse Production Assistants are passionate, social, hardworking and team driven individuals. This position is perfect for people who enjoy plants, are goal oriented, and willing to roll up their sleeves in a hands on, manual labor position.

Prior greenhouse experience is not required. We are seeking enthusiastic, organized candidates who are team oriented and self motivated. Our hours are 8-4 Monday through Friday, and 7-3 in the Summer. Weekends not required. Paid holidays and vacation for all full and Part Time time employees after 90 day trial period.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Excel at working within a team environment to achieve a goal.
• Maintain high quality work at a steady and consistent pace.
• Assist in the cutting, dividing, and propagation of multiple genera (requires dexterity and speed).
• Maintain a clean and safe work space by keeping workspace clean and areas swept.
• Gather, inspect and prepare products for customer orders.
• Weed and clean greenhouses to maintain a high level of quality and safety.
• Setting down and picking up plant material and/or soil for planting.
• Perform housekeeping duties within the warehouse to maintain a clean and pleasant shared working space.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to safely lift/carry 35 pounds.
• Excellent color eyesight and spatial awareness.
• Comfortable with manual labor, including standing, bending, or reaching for hours.
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Is detail oriented and self motivated.

Garden Solutions is a plant breeding company with a heavy emphasis on production of our own genetics. We’re a small business with a current year round staff of 20, and a Summer staff of 40. Company culture is of primary importance, and the adage “work hard, play hard” definitely applies. We enjoy frequent company cookouts, and have an ever-growing collection of animals as pets/mascots including 3 cats and 3 miniature donkeys!
