Basic Job Purpose/Function
Part Time Cook - Senior Services Department - White Salmon, WA - Casual - Non-Exempt - Grade 35, Step 1-3, $18.90-$20.03/hr. Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am to 3pm.
Must have cooking experience. Prepares and serves congregate and home-delivered meals. Positions assigned to the Cook class are distinguished from the Head Cook or Nutrition Coordinator class by duties that primarily involve food preparation, rather than administrative duties, such as menu planning and ordering of supplies.
Essential Job Duties

1. Prepares the proper amount of each food item on the menu to serve the projected attendance.
2. Records food used in meal preparation.
3. Oversees the counting of donations following agency policy.
4. Works cooperatively with and supervises the Nutrition Assistant and volunteers.
5. Recruits volunteers as needed to help in the kitchen.
6. Records serving temperature of foods.
7. Observes and enforces all safety and sanitation rules and agency procedures.
8. Attends scheduled meetings and training.
9. Provides input to Nutrition Coordinator on menu ideas.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.

• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be

High school diploma or G.E.D. and experience working in a commercial kitchen in a supervisory capacity.
