We’re currently looking for a Part Time Companion in Arcadia, CA 91007

JOB ID 16296 - A lovely family in Arcadia, CA is seeking a Part Time Care Companion/caregiver for their 75 year old mother to start as soon as possible. Care is needed long-term for 3 hours per week and the family is pretty flexible on the day. The day will need to be between Monday-Friday from 1pm-4pm, with some flexibility, but they prefer the days to be consistent. The client is currently in an assisted living facility and the provider will need to pick the client up and take them to their volunteer service every other week and on other outings. The client is very outgoing, talkative, and overall very pleasant. The client is receptive to care, can communicate regarding what she needs, and uses a walker independently (the provider should be within arms reach of her in the event of a fall). She can be headstrong and a great provider will be able to set boundaries, be engaging, conversational, physically able to assist the client (lifting if needed - client is 120lbs.), and have experience caring for the elderly.

• Start date: ASAP
• Length of Position: Long-term, minimum 1 year if the right fit
• Schedule: 1pm-4pm - your choice on the weekday, but must be consistent
• Compensation: $25 per hour + gas reimbursement when driving the client

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting the client when standing/sitting + getting in/out of vehicle
• Driving client; max distance is ~20 miles one way
• Engaging with the client in conversation, outdoor walks, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional caregiving experience
• Must be UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license + clean driving record
• Must have a reliable vehicle to transport the client
• Mandarin speaking is highly preferred
