Responsible to the Vice President / Director of Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance to support and ensure the compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML) program of the credit union.    
Responsible and Accountable for: 

• Ensuring effective daily monitoring of member and non-member transactions for proper AML compliance. 
• Performing enhanced due diligence on high risk individuals and businesses. 
• Ensuring the accurate completion, filing and maintenance of reports and logs. 
• Performing 314(a)/watchlist searches and appropriately respond to positive matches detected by the AML software. 
• Ensuring accurate completion, investigation, reporting and retention of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR). 
• Performing ongoing reviews of the CTR Exemption list (when applicable). 
• Ensuring accurate completion, investigation, reporting and retention of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR).  
• Participating in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA and related AML and OFAC regulatory requirements. 
• Participating in regulatory exams and internal audits focused on the AML operational process.  
• Providing input to management on control weaknesses, policy enhancements and training needs, as applicable. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations related to the BSA/AML policy & program, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Beneficial Ownership, Customer Identification Program and OFAC as well as the credit union's relevant policies and procedures. 
• Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by following appropriate policies (i.e. Code of Ethics, BSA, Network Security) for identifying members and protecting sensitive/confidential information. 
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.   
• Effective time management. 
• Strong research skills for the investigation, determination, and mitigation of fraud/suspicious activity. 
• Strong ability to communicate and translate complex information both verbally and in writing.  
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to work independently.  
• Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft applications (Advanced Excel, Intermediate Word). 
• Willing to travel as needed.  

Education and Experience: 

• Education:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.  
• Experience:  One to three years of job related experience. 
• Preferred: Industry accepted BSA certification (i.e. ACAMs); Knowledge of AML system (Verafin).
