ResponsibilitiesThis position performs general upkeep and maintenance of the parking garages and parking lots on campus to consistently maintain a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution.
- Responsible for routine cleaning and maintenance of parking lots and garages across campus. This includes performing cleanliness checks within the parking lots/structure, entrances, exits, landings, elevators, and stairwells within each parking garage.
- Empties trash receptacles, sweeps, and blows litter and debris as necessary. Notes and reports location of maintenance repair and/or problems to the supervisor.
- Uses appropriate equipment, including power washing and blower, to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of each structure.
- Eliminates stains within parking structure, including parking spaces and pillars/columns.
- Inspects and cleans parking lot and garage signage. Inspects and cleans gates, gate arms, card readers, etc. Ensures parking garages remain in good and safe operating condition.
- Reports non-routine issues to the supervisor.
- Maintains parking lots in a clean, safe, and orderly manner by mowing, blowing, mobile sweeping, trimming, weeding, and performing minor pest management. Responsible for cleaning debris from grounds, pathways, and parking lots; maintains grounds maintenance equipment.
- May assist in removing and stacking cardboard as related to job duties. As needed, will load and unload cardboard including operating cardboard baler.
- Operates University vehicles as required.
- Performs other related duties assigned by supervisor.
- Completion of Ninth grade.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position requirements including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, climbing, descending stairs, and lifting/moving up to 20 lbs.
- A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in the area of work.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
