Job Summary

The Housing Facilities Department is currently seeking a Temporary Maintenance Support Worker to join their team of professionals. Duties include:

• Performs general repairs, executes preventative maintenance, and supports the overall maintenance of the residential facilities.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, plumbing tools, and straightedges.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Performs general repairs such as installing drywall, patching holes, installation of vinyl tile, repairing ceramic tile floors, repairing and/or replacing door locks, repairing cabinetry, etc.
• Performs basic plumbing repairs and maintenance such as adjust faucets, replace shower heads, repair flush valves, and other minor plumbing repair tasks.
• Performs minor electrical repairs such as replace light switches, fuses, install breakers, and other basic electrical work.
• Performs manual labor such as moving furniture, stripping floors, and unloading materials.
• Performs preventative maintenance as required such as changing filters, inspecting equipment, etc.
• Performs other related duties as required or directed. The omissions of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of the ninth (9th) Grade.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds, and willing to work weekends and overtime when needed.
