Job Summary
Park Maintenance Technician I
Pay Range: $21.75 to $24.13
The City of Olathe's Field Operations Division is currently seeking a Park Maintenance Technician to join our Parks Infrastructure Team. This team services, maintains, and repairs all structures within the City of Olathe's parks. If you're interested in a job that directly impacts the lives of Olathe citizens, this is for you. In this role, you will work with a team and independently as you maintain and repair a variety of facilities, equipment, and systems within the City's parks and trails.

Work Schedule:
- 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Will participate in on-call rotation, being on-call one week every month
- Some overtime required to participate in seasonal special events and assist in plowing snow

- Participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of park facilities including playgrounds and equipment, recreational courts, outdoor aquatic facilities, trails, restrooms, etc.
- Perform various electrical and construction related tasks on numerous park facilities and equipment.
- Assist with training assigned employees in maintenance methods, techniques, and in the set up and use of equipment.
- Install and repair a variety of electrical devices; plumbing, drinking fountains, street scape water fountains.
- Ensure the adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
- Perform on-call duties and overtime including special events and snow removal.
Experience and Education Guidelines: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience in general construction and ground maintenance.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses and Certificates: Class A commercial driver's license within six months of employment. May require specialty certification in assigned area.
