ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the air transport team.
- Respond to calls via flight, evaluate the scene of an accident and notify appropriate authorities/request additional assistance as required.
- Perform patient assessment and triage; provide advanced life support and/or emergency care as needed before and during transport.
- Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
- Determine appropriate mode of transport and assist with locating and establishing a landing zone for the aircraft.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date
or job transfer date required. - Paramedic credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer
date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
