Job Description
As a Medical Malpractice litigation paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys, clients, and other teams to provide support throughout the entire litigation process. Your primary role is to assist in the preparation and management of cases for trial, ensuring that all legal tasks are handled accurately and efficiently. Your work is essential for our legal team’s success and our clients’ representation, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our cases.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Performing legal research;
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, and other legal briefs;
- Sending correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, courts, experts, and other relevant entities;
- Collecting information and documents from clients and other sources;
- Handling time sensitive deadlines;
- Trial preparation including arranging exhibits, witnesses, legal materials, client meetings, and motions;
- Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical records;
- Administrative duties to include organizing and maintaining electronic files, scheduling, travel arrangements, calendar maintenance, etc.; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office, and Mac systems;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Effective problem-solving abilities and critical thinking;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- The capability to prioritize and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Proficiency in analyzing legal documents for accuracy;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team;
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards;
- Associate Nursing Degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Juris Doctor Degree (preferred); and
- Registered Nurse License (preferred).
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures;
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures;
- Federal and State E-Filing knowledge; and
- Minimum of 3 years of Medical Malpractice experience.
