Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal, ideally with previous criminal legal experience, to join our legal team. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting Attorney Rutherford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the legal field and wants to contribute to the success of our firm.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys with legal case management, including organizing and maintaining case files
- Be a point of contact for the clients and the courts
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other relevant agencies
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred
- Proven experience working as a Paralegal or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in conducting legal research using online databases such as Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in data entry and document management software
