POSITION SUMMARY
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Creative, Project Managers and Product Manufacturers to ensure packaging designs are aligned with manufacturing processes and optimized for cost and luxury quality. Expertly guide teams on materials best suitable for production and customer goals
- Perform daily in-house quality inspections and testing on retail paper and textile packaging items, from Prototypes, Pre-Production Samples, and Post-Production Samples
- Review quality inspections including color review using spectrophotometer, material testing (weight, burst strength, moisture, crocking, tearing, etc.), and functionality testing
- Participate in or lead discussions for improvement, and represent Infinity Global during customer visits
- Drive departmental improvement goals by leading in-zone technical review of pre-production samples, coordinate shipments to HQ and act as key liaison between BD and Quality
- Liaise with other Supplier Management Team members to review production opportunities and limitations
- Provide support for the quality inspection process and follow quality guidelines for each client/customer
- Support the department director in collecting manufacturer’s data, for annual evaluation and other project requests
- Ability to complete all tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-up
- Lead professional, accurate, and helpful communication with internal and external constituents to complete assignments and resolve issues
- Must understand basics of project management to realize the order, importance, and impact of appropriate project activities and maintain Packaging commitments to project scheduling
- Analyze and problem-solve efficiently; work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes to priorities
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development, testing, and production of new packaging using a range of component manufacturing processes and materials:
- Knowledge of aesthetic and performance testing methods (weight, burst strength, crocking, resistance, color deviation, etc.)
- Paper packaging experience required: deep knowledge of printing, hot stamping, paper production, and board
- Fluency in English; other language skills are a plus
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with planning handmade production is a bonus
