Position Summary:

Our agency is seeking motivated and caring individuals to provide overnight supervision and support to children and teenagers using a trauma informed model of care. This position is temporary, with no specific end date. The ongoing need will be assessed every 90 days. This is a full-time position without benefits. There will be local travel required. The use of a company vehicle may be permitted, or any use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed by mileage. This position will require training that may or may not need to be completed during daytime hours prior to working the night shift.

Pay Rate:

$30.00/hour

Schedule:

Four nights per week, 10-hour shifts, 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM

The specific nights of the week will be determined as positions are filled, but should follow a 2-on, 2-off, 2-on, 1-off format.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Ensure the safety of youth by following all proper regulations, safety recommendations and procedures each day.
  • Transport children identified by the case management team when necessary.
  • Abide by all confidentiality laws and policies.
  • Thoroughly review resource records and information provided by case management which may include the youth’s strengths, challenges, behavioral triggers, and personal preferences.
  • Record information and document incidents as they occur to help keep track of problem behaviors or unsafe conditions.
  • Act as a resource when youth need guidance or advice about specific life situations or social issues.
  • Provide the youth their medication as directed and properly document.
  • Create a safe and caring environment for high-risk youth.
  • Ensure child is fed properly during supervision.
  • Maintain secure and safe area(s) where the supervision is being conducted.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, log entries, and other necessary client records. Complete an incident report on any facility damage, medical emergency, or any incident, which occurs out of the ordinary daily operational functioning of the supervision shift.
  • In the event that no supervision of children is needed, this position may be asked to complete various assignments. This may include clerical work, organization/cleaning of office and/or vehicles, etc.

Location:

Pasco County with offices located in New Port Richey and Dade City. Pinellas/Hillsborough Counties as needed for supervision.

Requirements:

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Courtesy: Treat customers, the public and staff with courtesy, respect and dignity and presents a positive public image.
  • Communication Skills: Keep supervisor fully informed of activities, pertinent issues, upcoming events, and potential problems. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in daily work.
  • Teamwork: Support the unit, department and/or organization and work with others in an effort to accomplish the goals of the unit, department and/or organization.
  • Safety: Employee makes a reasonable effort to adhere to established safety procedures and practices in the work area.
  • Training: Attend and successfully complete all mandated training courses. The specific trainings needed will vary depending on the locations where supervision of children is needed. There will be a minimum of approximately one week of training before supervising children.
  • Confidentiality: Adhere to all confidentiality rules.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED required. A.A. preferred.
  • Experience in Human Services or childcare preferred.
  • Insurable driving record.
  • Willing to submit to and pass a Level II Background Screening and Drug Urinalysis.
