The Position:

This hands-on position will be responsible for overseeing and being accountable for the sale and project planning of residential remodeling and construction projects, whose operations are to be in compliance with Bellwethers handbooks, policies, and procedures. The Outside Salesperson will act as a representative for the company in a fashion that is in line with Bellwether's company culture and values at all times.The Outside Salesperson will create a culture of superior service and coordination with members of the Bellwether Windows, Siding, and Doors staff, Bellwether subcontractors, and through communication with Bellwether customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Primary Duties:
  • The Outside Salespersons primary duty is to make sales or obtain orders or contracts for services and products.
  • The Outside Salesperson will be customarily and regularly engaged away from Bellwethers offices.
  • General Duties:
  • Prepare detailed drafts of sales contracts and project plans and designs.
  • Communicate articulately about Bellwether's services, culture, and values.
  • Consistently promote a professional image of Bellwether at all times.
  • Promote Bellwether Windows, Siding, and Doorss values and culture.
  • Be timely to all client and Bellwether meetings, remote or in-person
  • Demonstrate a Can-do attitude, a willingness to roll up your sleeves, and be a team player.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills and follow-through.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Sales Duties:
  • Demonstrate responsibility for initial meetings with potential clients.
  • Attend meetings with prospective clients to evaluate their needs and develop a project.
  • Assess client needs and educate the client on options and design.
  • Develop project scope, timeline, and budget, including the preparation of complete cost estimates (labor, material, and installation) for residential construction projects.
  • Present a proposal to the client.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, property owners, local vendors, and installers to ensure that project proposals are bid. appropriately, presented to the customer within an acceptable time frame, and produced accurately.
  • Coordinate the calendar with the Scheduling Coordinator to handle the lead flow, including initial appointments and return appointments.
  • Meet or exceed company-defined cost margins to develop project bids.
  • Utilize project estimating software to develop and document cost estimates.
  • Utilize project management software to develop and prepare project plans.
  • Ensure successful project handoff to the Production Team upon project acceptance.
  • Demonstrate consistent, thorough, and concise communication with all project stakeholders, from initial client meetings to project completion.
  • Assist the Production Team with maintaining detailed material and labor cost sheets.
  • Serve as client advocate to the production team throughout the duration of the project.
  • Continuous self-improvement through training, education, and career development
  • Commit to active membership in at least one networking organization with weekly meetings.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years experience doing Outside Sales, preferably in residential construction/renovation or related fields; design/build experience is a plus.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience doing in-home, B2C window sales with a proven sales performance record.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience selling James Hardie siding products
  • Reliable transportation with a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications to include blueprints, engineering drawings, proposals, and other documents as they relate to the residential construction industry
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Construction/Project Management or related field a plus
  • Ability to stay motivated and self-directed work while working outside of the office.
  • Regularly attend sales meetings at the Englewood office.
  • Remain 100% available through the hours of 8:30 am 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, for ad-hoc meetings and client service.
  • Available to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, as needed.
  • Proficiency in construction terminology.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when creating contracts and project plans.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including communicating in person, by e-mail, and by telephone.
  • Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of people, and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including occasionally working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary to meet the needs of Bellwether.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at a level adequate to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, and outside vendors.
  • Ability to pass background checks.


Working Conditions

  • This position predominantly involves out-of-office work with clients and on-site.
  • Use of sensory activities such as talking, seeing, and hearing, will be required frequently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, squat, push, pull, pinch, grip, reach overhead, reach away from body, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to push and pull packages, and books weighing up to 20 pounds and ability to retrieve and replace objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high.Ability to lift 50 pounds and push 50 pounds.

Salary + Benefits:

  • Compensation: 100% Commission
  • First-year earnings may be $250k+ per year with top performance.
  • Benefits package (eligible approximately 60 days after start) includes platinum level medical, dental, vision, basic life, 401k matching, short-term and long-term disability.
