About Us: Performance Electrical Products, Inc. (PEP) began operations as a sales agency specializing in the electric utility industry in 1971. Our corporate office is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we have satellite sales offices in Columbus, OH, Dexter, MI, and Evansville, IN
Our mission is to obtain sales for our principals by providing sales and marketing assistance, influencing customer specifications and obtaining engineering approvals, soliciting requests for quotation and purchase orders, and providing the after sales service which is necessary for building lasting, stable relationships based on integrity and trust between our principals and our customers.
Job Description/ Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Meetings:
· In-Person Meetings: Traveling to assigned territories to meet with potential and current customers in person.
· Virtual Meetings: Utilizing online platforms like Teams, Zoom, etc., for remote interactions.
2. Introduction of PEP:
· Introducing oneself and the company (PEP) during the first contact with the target customer.
· Providing information about the PEP principal companies represented and the range of products they manufacture.
3. Needs Identification:
· Identifying and understanding the specific product engineering and packaging needs of the customer.
· Conducting discussions to gather information about the customer's requirements.
4. Education:
· Educating customers about the new products and services offered by the PEP principal companies.
· Providing information about the features, benefits, and specifications of the products.
5. Engineering Approvals:
· Working towards gaining product engineering approvals.
· Presenting the value proposition of the products to convince customers to choose PEP.
· Keeping customers informed about updates related to the products and any new features.
· Highlighting the advantages and improvements in the products represented by PEP.
6. Closing Sales Contracts:
· Moving towards the final stage of the sales process by closing deals and securing sales contracts.
· Addressing any concerns or questions the customer may have and ensuring a smooth transaction.
7. Planning and Market Analysis
· The individual will be responsible for regular territory updates to management.
· Complete sales forecasting exercises set forth by management team
Qualifications:
- College Degree or significant utility related experience
- 3+ years B2B technical sales experience with demonstrated ability to close sales with new customers.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong written and verbal communication skillset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering degree
- Technical Sales experience

Pay: $75,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
