BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Outreach Specialist for the Community Health Program

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with outreach preferred
• Experience with civic engagement preferred
• Community involvement a plus
• Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred
• Able to walk and stand for several hours at a time.
• Able to work in all weather conditions, e.g. heat, cold, rain, sun, wind, snow.
• High School preferred
• Provide Program Coordinator with weekly reports
• Bilingual Preferred
• Prior experience with program outreach
• Facilitation experience preferred
• Prior experience with working with different age groups
• Prior experience using Microsoft suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform program outreach
• Document work daily using agency and funder database
• Communication with other BronxWorks staff and programs
• Work closely with Program Coordinator to meet program targets
• Provide Program coordinator with weekly reports
• Assume responsibilities of program assistant when necessary
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Program enrollment and outreach
• Conduct facilitation of focus groups and coalition meetings
• Workshop facilitation
• Data entry
• Assist with the daily operations of the seasonal farm stands

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
• Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
• Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
