BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Outreach Specialist for the Community Health Program
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with outreach preferred
- Experience with civic engagement preferred
- Community involvement a plus
- Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred
- Able to walk and stand for several hours at a time.
- Able to work in all weather conditions, e.g. heat, cold, rain, sun, wind, snow.
- High School preferred
- Provide Program Coordinator with weekly reports
- Bilingual Preferred
- Prior experience with program outreach
- Facilitation experience preferred
- Prior experience with working with different age groups
- Prior experience using Microsoft suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform program outreach
- Document work daily using agency and funder database
- Communication with other BronxWorks staff and programs
- Work closely with Program Coordinator to meet program targets
- Provide Program coordinator with weekly reports
- Assume responsibilities of program assistant when necessary
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Program enrollment and outreach
- Conduct facilitation of focus groups and coalition meetings
- Workshop facilitation
- Data entry
- Assist with the daily operations of the seasonal farm stands
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
