Outreach Specialist

About:

We are Radar Toolkit, a team at Exactly Labs funded by a government grant studying internet connectivity in key rural underserved geographies. Our research is focused on the intersection of access to the internet and access to critical online services such as telehealth. We are looking to hire 1-2 junior Outreach Specialists to support our outreach efforts in support of our Radar Toolkit project. More about Radar Toolkit can be found at radartoolkit.com. The scope of our study is currently limited to key rural counties in Michigan, Texas, West Virginia, and Alaska.

Through the Radar Toolkit project we have developed Pods, which are custom internet monitoring devices. We are in the process of deploying our Pods to community institutions, such as health clinics & local non-profits, and residential homes. These devices collect a set of metrics regarding quality of service and technology used by the internet service providers, which we package for use by our partner institutional researchers. The data that we are collecting will show our government how the lack of quality internet is holding back rural communities. Looking forward, we see this work informing future research & infrastructure investments in rural communities.

Exactly Labs is a fast growing software consultancy focused on building innovative products from scratch for clients in healthcare, education, and other civic-minded sectors. We build apps and software to help the good guys do more good.

Core Duties:

• “Prospect for community partners in our study geographies”Our senior organizer will be responsible for prospecting for new study participants. This work includes internet research on local institutions in our study areas and community networking.
• “Selling prospects on joining our study & building our community network”Our senior organizer will be expected to execute on their prospects and do high-volume direct community outreach. This work involves cold calling, emailing, and having deepening conversations with community members.

Qualifications:

• 0-3 years of sales, community organizing, or political experience. We are targeting folks with interest in or some direct outreach experience.
• Able to set and track measurable goals related to personal performance
• Able to make quality cold calls and emails at scale
• Able to work remotely, we are a fully remote team.

Other details:

• This is a part time opportunity. 10 - 35 hour weekly contracts available.
• This is a contract position
• The ideal candidate would be able to commit to this project at least through the spring of 2024.
• We are offering $20 - $22 / hour depending on experience..
