SQUAN is looking for Telecom field Engineers to join our dynamic team. Our engineering team is seeking self-motivated individuals who are comfortable traveling up to 75% of the time.
We currently have work in multiple states and locations, so you must be comfortable and willing to travel anywhere. You will be utilizing your own vehicle for travel but will be reimbursed for mileage.
This position is a unit pay-based position.
As a telecom Field Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in our mission. Your responsibilities will include collecting field data, such as utility pole attachments, construction path measurements, OSP field data, buried facilities, right-of-way and roadway dimensions, cabinet or building inventory, as well as any additional notes to aid in design or construction. Completing tasks in a timely manner and paying attention to detail and your surroundings are crucial for success in this position. Experience utilizing AutoCAD is also a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize company-provided equipment to collect and transmit field data.
- Ability to accurately collect and record information to be used in telecom design projects.
- Collect accurate information to be used in telecom design projects.
- Communicate potential obstacles and problem areas immediately.
- Collaborate with other teammates to ensure that collected data is assigned to project requirements.
- Stay informed about advancements in technology and best practices through training and professional development.
Requirements:
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year.
- Previous experience with collecting field data.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and environments.
- Proficiency with handheld devices like tablets and iPads.
- Ability to read and understand online and printed maps.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Adaptable to industry and client changes.
- Maintain a professional appearance and work ethic while operating independently.
- Must possess and maintain reliable transportation.
