We are seeking an OSP Designer to maintain a high degree of knowledge in equipment and specifications related to the design, mapping, and engineering of fiber optic communications systems. The right candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proficient in organization, and be team-oriented. Responsibilities
- Interpret and understand customer network design requirements per the statement of work (SOW) provided.
- Determine best communication system design based on customer requirements and budget.
- Create detailed designs of FTTX including locations of infrastructure, fiber count layouts/cut sheets, and desktop mapping of network design.
- Determine the correct customer template to be used in the creation of plan sets.
- Provide expert advice in creating the best network possible within the parameters of the SOW.
- Coordinate with CCI field personnel to create a set of construction plans and permit drawings to bring network design to construction.
- Confirm all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff with minimal direction.
- Attend meetings with customers to provide project updates and discuss options for network design.
- Ensure confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Create and promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to employees, the public and customers. This includes ensuring that service and quality provided to customers is satisfactory.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of fiber optic and FTTX networks.
- Ability to create FTTX designs including locations of infrastructure, fiber count layouts/cut sheets, and desktop mapping of network.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Vetro, GIS, or similar software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other web-based applications with ability to learn new software programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; highly responsible, resourceful, and self-motivated.
- Demonstrated track record of process improvements using new techniques, technology, or concepts.
- Detail-orientated with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Shift is full-time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
