Invio Automation’s Solutions division specializes in single station robotic cells, multi-station fabrication & assembly lines, bonding & welding technologies, vision systems, and packaging process. DESCRIPTION
A System Layout Designer will focus on process design, launch and continuous improvements for automotive production line development. This individual must be professional, proactive, and positive when interacting with customers. Our goal is to exceed expectations and ensure our customers receive an exceptional experience at Invio Automation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordination of all internal and external integrated Layout Design activities
  • Works closely with Manufacturing, Controls Engineering and Project Management to follow a project from its inception to the final customer acceptance and sign-off, provides follow up and support after this point
  • Reviews and releases final engineering drawings to the manufacturing department
  • Develop & maintain good relationships with customers & suppliers
  • Organizes and participates in System Layout review meetings for internal, as well as outsourced, designs
  • Gather required project information from Customers & Suppliers to create specifications
  • Travel to Supplier and Customer sites when required
  • Provides project specific direction to design suppliers
  • Document information, decisions, changes related to System Layout, etc.
  • Maintain a strong sense of accountability and commitment to concept design accuracy

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Expert proficiency AutoCAD Architecture
  • Proficiency with FactoryCad software, General Motors FCAD library and Inventor
  • Knowledge with NX
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, as well as Google Applications (such as Gmail, Calendar and Docs)
  • Ability to analyze information quickly and accurately
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven organizational verbal and written skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision
  • Good presentation skills required
  • Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willing to travel to Invio Automation facilities and customer sites as required
EDUCATION
A four year degree in engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), manufacturing technology or a related field is preferred. Minimum three years AutoCAD design experience required.
