Position Summary:
Desk receptionists are an integral part of the Office of Student Involvement in conduction with operations, programs, and services of the Student center. Primarily your job is to answer the phones, answer questions, and help students, staff, and visitors to the best of your abilities as a Student Service employee.
Essential Job Functions:
a.Answer phone calls and greet visitors to the Student Center.
b.Dispense general information concerning all areas of the college.
c.Maintain the office and lobbies so that they always present a well-kept appearance.
d.Manage and care for the desk and recreational equipment and supplies.
e.Accommodate students, faculty members, and other visitors with customer service. All phone
calls should be answered immediately and all inquiries treated courteously. Take time to
disseminate the correct information and record the proper message. Include from
whom the message is, the date and time, and your initials.
f.Maintain order and security in the building.
g.Familiarize yourself with the use of the printer and copier. You may need to assist students with sending faxes.
h.Do any projects and tasks that the office may assign you.
i.Enforce sign and poster policies; make sure all posted materials are not outdated.
j.Keep track of box numbers and corresponding organizations.
k.Keep track of lost & found.
l.Ensure the cleanliness of the desk area at all times.
m.Familiarize yourself with facilities room requests, work orders, bus reservations, check requests, and aLink for students with questions.

The individual is routinely exposed to indoor conditions, minimum outdoor weather and temperature extremes, and moderate noise level.
