A quick summary about the Director of Marketingrole:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the marketing strategy for the organization with the focus on driving revenue through ticket sales, merchandise, and global partnerships. Additionally, this role will develop strategies to generate brand awareness across all social spaces, in the community via grass root events, single game ticket sales, and drive affinity for the team. This role will manage the Manager of Game Operations & Partnership Activations along with a select number of part-time, game night staff.
What the Director of Marketing will do:
  • Oversee Osceola Magic promotion and advertising efforts to build brand awareness and increase attendance, sales, social metrics and partnerships.
  • Oversee brand standards and the Osceola Magic's overall design inclusive of jerseys, content and logos.
  • Create and implement a vision for the team's marketing efforts, including the strategy of localized and digital marketing (website, team social media, television, outdoor, etc.)
  • Oversee marketing and giveaway budget for Game Operations department, including initiating all billing, invoicing and all other financial matters related to game day/event entertainment.
  • Manage and lead the Manager of Game Operations & Partnerships to include: assisting with hiring part-time staff, ensuring each game is fully staffed, assisting with gameday scripts and talent meet Osceola Magic standards, and partnership activations as needed.
  • Manage and run all content on social media, website and email newsletter database.
  • Coordinate youth basketball camps and various events.
  • Coordinate, within the marketing department Graphic Design and Video Production to create all in-arena and external marketing needs.
  • Partner with local media partners to maximize exposure and reach (print, digital, billboard, broadcast, etc.).
  • Increase revenue generation through marketing efforts focused on game attendance and retail.
  • Update, maintain, and improve team website including home page widgets, creating/editing web pages, updating ROS banners and page entitlements.
  • Implement and manage marketing budget as it relates to all paid media.
  • Coordinate with Social Media team on marketing calendar including promotions, partner activations, league content calendar, recaps of Marketing/community events, etc.
  • Write and schedule radio and TV ads through local broadcast talent and partners.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive marketing insights.
  • Manage and increase merchandise sales and revenue goals through both gameday and out-of-arena sales by managing inventory, creating new content and promoting all products.
  • Oversee all presentation templates while helping create certain captivating slides/graphics for sales through partnerships and ticket sales.
  • Execute the run-of-show for Osceola Magic Media Day to plan and capture all content necessary for the season.
  • Submit all required content and information necessary to the NBA G League including theme jerseys, court and jersey updates, logo changes, analytic reporting, award submissions and more.
  • Plan and design a creative promotional calendar including the ordering and tracking of promotional items and giveaways.
  • Help track and coordinate implementation of all Social Responsibility campaigns determined by team leadership and the NBA G-League.
  • Manage and create season long programs like Magic of Reading, High School Takeovers, Share the Magic, etc.
  • All other duties assigned.

What the Director of Marketing needs to have:
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications or professional equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years proven marketing experience is required.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills required.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish preferred.
  • Graphic design ability and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite highly preferred.
  • Video production ability preferred.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong creative skills, organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.

  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.

Physical requirements
  • Ability to stand, squat, walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
