The Sophomore Summer Intern experience at TD Securities is designed specifically for 2nd year undergraduate students to
gain hands-on experience in Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) in a rotational program.
What to Expect:
As a Sophomore Summer Intern with CIB, you will be introduced to the dynamic and fast-paced world of corporate and investment banking.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of integrated teams and gain exposure to a wide variety of clients, industries, financial services, and products.
Throughout the rotation program, you will develop your investment banking and capital markets knowledge through preparing client presentations, financial analysis of companies, valuation analysis, and industry research.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience by observing and contributing to pitches and capital markets transactions, while cultivating professional relationships with peers and senior business leaders at TD Securities.
Program Overview
Attend one-week of in-person orientation, including an introduction to the TD
Securities culture and in-depth classroom instruction with Wall Street Prep
covering advanced excel, financial statement comprehension, valuation
fundamentals, and an introduction to financial modeling.
Participate in the Summer Intern Capstone, where you will spend one-week
working alongside an experienced investment banker to prepare your own best
in-class TD Securities pitch book.
You will have the opportunity to rotate through two three-week rotations including:
Investment Banking
Capital Markets
Corporate Banking
You will have the opportunity to indicate your top two choices from the above
selection of rotation groups.
You will work under the overall direction of an experienced professional in a
group of TD Securities colleagues as they generate ideas, advise clients, and
execute transactions.
Mentorship
Prior to your first day, you will be connected with a dedicated TD Securities mentor who can help answer any questions about your upcoming internship. The mentor program is an opportunity to accelerate your professional network and is intended to be the first of many TD Securities professionals that you will cultivate a relationship with over the course of your summer internship. Your mentor is a professional dedicated to helping you reach your professional goals and navigating the early stages of your career.
The Intern assists designated department management and staff in performing assigned tasks under direct or general supervision. Exemplifies the TD Securities Culture and Customer Service Philosophy. The intern will be required to interact with various internal and external groups.
Depth & Scope:
Builds an understanding of the businesses and Customers the role supports
May answer and direct incoming calls internally and externally
Provides support for Manager and others areas, as indicated
May assist in completing various departmental projects/reports
May assist in the Preparation of specific schedules related to the monthly/quarterly/yearly reports or projects
Analyzes specific accounts
Assists in the preparation of specific federal and state returns
Assists with projects
Assists in the audit requests
Assists with operational and administrative functions
May support or partner with several business functions/areas/departments
Participates in various projects and tasks, as assigned
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma required
Currently enrolled in 4 year college program or post graduate program
3.2 GPA or higher preferred
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Good written and oral communications skills
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in an office environment
