Job Title: Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Hours: Monday 8:30am - 5:00pm | Tuesday - Friday 9:30 - 6:00pm with a one hour lunch
Reports To: Clinical Lead
Location: Briarcliff, NY & Carmel, NY

We are looking for an individual that is eager to learn about the industry, build relationships with co-workers and patients, has good attention to detail, and has excellent phone and communication skills. We have a fun atmosphere and are looking for someone that will fit the office culture.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment
• Greet and seat patients
• Evaluate patient oral hygiene and cooperation
• Take dental x-rays
• Take impressions scan and print images/photographs
• Prepare teeth for bonding
• Assist doctor with bonding
• Place and remove separators
• Initial seating of appliances
• Assist cementing bands and banded appliances
• Check for loose bands and brackets every appointment
• Remove, size and place archwires
• Chart procedures
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, parents, doctor, staff members and community.
• Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and parents both in person and on the telephone; pleasant telephone voice.
• Problem Solving
• Technical Skills: Use of computer, Patient management system (training provided)
• Must have pleasant attitude to be a part of a dynamic team

Experience / Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of college (preferred)
• At least 1-2 years experience working in an orthodontic / Dental office, must be proficient in taking digital radiographs and records. (preferred)

Pay:

• Pay is based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 35 per week
