Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist in providing quality dental care to patients
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for orthodontic procedures
- Take digital radiographs
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and updating medical records
- Assist with orthodontic procedures, such as placing brackets and wires, adjusting appliances, and taking impressions along with digital scans
- Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and dental procedures
- Proficiency in infection control protocols and sterilization techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
