Elite Vision Eyecare is a small business located in Maywood, NJ. We have been a trusted provider of eyecare to the area for over 70 years! The office is owned by a 3rd generation Optometrist-owner who deeply cares about the community and its patients' ocular well-being. Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye tests including visual acuity, lensometry, Optos, and tonometry.
- Assist Optometrist in various special testing such as Visual Fields, OCT, Rabin Cone Color Contrast, RetEval, External Ocular Photos, set-up/clean-up for various minor procedures as instructed.
- Educate patients on proper eyecare and contact lens use.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the Optometrist.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission.
- Assist with patient scheduling, insurance verification/billing, eyewear selection, etc.
Skills:
- Proficient in medical records systems (such as Crystal PM) to accurately document patient information.
- Knowledge of ophthalmology/optometry procedures and terminology.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform basic calculations related to retail math for eyewear sales.
Please note that previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or in a similar role is preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team are also essential for this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
