Ophthalmic Technician

Established ophthalmology practice in Branchburg, NJ seeks Ophthalmic Technician. Outstanding interpersonal skills, professional appearance. Responsibilities include pre exam testing, including documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, and all pertinent ocular findings. Perform visual acuity assessment, confrontational visual field testing, tonometry, refractometry, instill dilating drops; all other patient services requested by the physician. Perform lensometry, visual field testing, OCT, fundus photos, contact lens ordering. Assist with minor surgical procedures or laser treatments in office. Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions. Conduct inventory and check expiration date of ophthalmic supplies . Clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing. Open and close exam lanes daily, ensuring that equipment is sanitized. Minimum education, high school diploma. Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous Ophthalmic Technician experience a plus. Willing to train.
