Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:
Julius Silvert is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support the Operations Manager in leading the cost-effective operations of a fast-paced food distribution facility. The successful candidate will be tasked with training CDL drivers, managing the schedules of staff, and ensuring the operation goals/objectives are met. As the Operations Supervisor, you will work alongside the Operations Manager to maintain operational standards and ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Operations Manager in maintaining standard operating procedures for the entire transportation team, including inventory management, training, and staff supervision.
• Ensure all operation goals and objectives are met, including inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in leading and motivating a team of transportation staff to deliver high-quality performance and customer service.
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements in the warehouse/transportation environment.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and implement strategic plans for the transportation operations.
• Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace, incorporating the principles of EEO and ensuring all employees are treated with respect and fairness.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of previous experience in a transportation management role preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations is preferred
• Strong knowledge of transportation processes, inventory management, and shipping and receiving procedures
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
• Knowledge of employment laws, including EEO, and the ability to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace
• Knowledge of OSHA & HACCP requirements with extensive knowledge of WMS
• Flexibility with schedule
