Our manufacturing facilities located in Clackamas, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington allow us to serve diverse sectors such as Agriculture, Industrial, Municipal, Rental, and Mining.

Cornell Pump Company is seeking an experienced, dynamic Operations Managerto join our team.While this position is based at our Clackamas, Oregon location, it will also have oversight of our Vancouver manufacturing facility.

The annual salary pay range is $120,000 - $135,000 (DOE)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies to align with company objectives, emphasizing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality improvement. They will lead and inspire a diverse team to foster collaboration and high performance, while also optimizing processes, managing the supply chain, maintaining quality standards, and efficiently allocating resources to achieve operational targets within budgetary constraints.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives, focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality improvement.
  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of operations professionals, including production managers, supply chain specialists, and other key stakeholders. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure the highest quality standards. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Oversee Planning and Procurement, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products. Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures to uphold product quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve any quality issues.
  • Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment, and technology, to meet production targets efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Develop and manage the Operations budget, ensuring financial objectives are met while maintaining operational excellence.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages multiple supervisors/managers at various sites who supervise the Materials Department, Quality Personnel, and Shop Personnel and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven 10+ years’ experience in senior operations management roles within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on Lean implementation experience (required)

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Accomplished in driving Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and team management, consistently fostering high-performance teams
