The Operations Manager's main priorities are to assist Chaparral management with warehouse operations which includes inventory management, fleet management, warehouse management, and day-to-day operations geared towards operational excellence.
Chaparral Distributing, LLC's central warehouse is located in Austin, TX, where it began operations in April 2006. It operates 28 routes that service over 1,500 customers throughout the Austin Metro area and into the Texas Hill Country with a team of 51 dedicated employees. Chaparral's north Austin warehouse is located in Round Rock which operates 14 of the 28 routes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises and directs the entire Operations Division, as well as Ops Meetings.
- Directs the hiring, training and development of all new employees in the Ops Department of Chaparral Distributing accurately.
- Directs the maintenance of all Operations file systems - Analyzes sales and volume trends & designs programs to ensure maximum execution, highest sales, and profits for Chaparral Distributing, LLC.
- Manages all tracking and executional updates required by JECO in a timely fashion.
- Maintains timely and effective communications with the General Manager and the DOS/KAM regarding all resources needed to Win at Retail - including Product/POS inventory levels and Fleet condition.
- Maintains timely and effective communication with the Office Manager and JECO Corp. office on all HR and resource topics.
- Maintains a positive image for Chaparral Distributing and RBNA both personally and professionally.
- Provides information to the General Manager and JECO for establishing the annual budget and forecast.
- Ensures Performance Reviews are completed for all Ops personnel (minimum yearly with ongoing
performance discussions throughout the course of site visits with managers and subordinates.
- Exercises Chaparral Distributing's policies and procedures in accordance with the above responsibilities.
- Evaluates daily, weekly and monthly activities related to safety and warehouse standards and drives compliance in accordance with NSF. Primary contact for the preparation and conduct of the annual Food Safety Audit.
- Performs all other related duties/projects/reports as assigned by the Director of Operations.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
2-4 years of experience in the consumer package goods, warehouse, or inventory operations (wholesale consumer products preferred).
Strong mathematical and logistics operations skills.
Strong leaderships skills to provide mentoring, training, or corrective feedback.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
An understanding of computer ordering systems and other IT systems.
Must be at least 21 years old.
DOT medical card required.
