As an Immigration Staff Attorney in the Fairfax, VA office, you will handle a caseload consisting of various immigration matters including affirmative asylum, adjustment of status, employment authorization documents, naturalization, hardship waivers, family-based petitions and visas, cancellation of removal, U- and T-Visas, and other matters as needed.
Essential Functions
- Handle assigned cases, including intakes
- Provide Know Your Rights presentations
- Provide legal and case information during the legal team’s weekly internal office hours
- Handle a high volume of case inquiries from other staff in other LSSNCA departments
- Triage cases with different priorities
- Work collaboratively with the whole legal team during legal clinics
- Devise creative solutions to maximize the efficiency of the legal team
- Represent LSSNCA at internal and external functions
- Adhere to standard procedures to organize and maintain client files and casework
- Organize and maintain client files while ensuring the timely collection and accurate input of data
- Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address challenges by proposing effective solutions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited school of law
- Membership, in good standing to a state bar association
- Minimum of (2) years of practicing law, with at least one year of experience in immigration and/or human rights law.

- Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of database management.
