- Managementand motivationof supervisors and warehouse staff through effective and efficient leadership
- Supportthe development of direct reports by identifying training opportunities and setting performance expectations
- Work withOperations Supervisors to adjust and schedule staff according to production needs while being mindful of the financial impact of labor cost
- Use effectivepersonnel management skills to resolve employee complaints in a prompt, ethical, and fair manner
- Use a high levelof customer service and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery
- Promote and demonstratea safe work environment by following and supporting all internal safety procedures, compliance with OSHA/EPA regulations, and investigating and reporting all incidents of safety violations or injuries
- Identifypotentialproblems and implement solutions using collaboration and team-work skills
- Managethe logistics plan of the facility, including company trucks and common carriers
- Utilize reporting and productionmetrics in establishment of best practices and benchmarking
- Implement and supportcontinuous productivity improvements using LEAN methodologies
- Overseemaintenanceof the facility, grounds, and equipment
- Useinternal systemsto manage the scheduling of material flow through the facility
- Assistin the development of annual budget, capital expenditure plan, and forecast
- Manageoperationalexpenses to provide lowest cost solutions
- Remainsavailable to respond to any crisis, i.e., alarm system activated, injured personnel, or machinery breakdown/malfunction
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Operations or Warehouse Manager or preferred
- At least 5 years of management experience in the metals distribution industry required
