You're invited to join Chicago's next top-tier fish house. A profitable Seafood wholesale/retail operation is changing hands after 20+ years, and new ownership is searching for an Operations Director to help make ambitious plans a reality.
You
- held senior leadership positions at a restaurant, wholesale food distributor, retail food sales operation, or similar
- hold the concept of "hospistality" as one of your core values
- a pleasure to work and communicate with, never wavering from treating others with professionalism, compassion, and respect
- hold a network of BOH purchasing decision-makers you can tap to grow the wholesale business
- have familiarity with inventory, POS systems, scheduling employees
- enjoy a keen attention to detail
- have experience nurturing and developing talent
- have been called "creative" in various aspects of your life
- operate with a learner's mindset as the longtime business owner helps to transition operations
- experience with wholesale operations, retail operations, or seafood suppliers is a huge plus
Management
- focused on building a nice place to work where hospitality-minded folks can make a nice living and enjoy (relatively) normal working hours
- possess extensive leadership and operations experience outside the food&bev/hospitality sector
- well-capitalized and prepared to make significant investments to bring new life to an established business
- have realistic plans for business growth and modernization
- prepared to invest in extensive professional development for the right operating partner (think research trips, a dining stipend, and other avenues your creative mind can concoct)
