The Operations Support Compliance Engineer will provide engineering support to the ROCC, High Voltage Operations, and Operational Technology teams in the areas of compliance, process effectiveness, betterment of project development, and interdepartmental communication. This position will have emphasis placed on compliance with NERC PRC and MOD Reliability Standards.
This position will be on a hybrid work schedule, working three days in the office and two days from home.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure high standard of compliance of EDPR NA assets with all applicable NERC PRC and MOD Reliability Standards
- Subject matter expert for the creation and maintenance of documentation, procedures, processes to demonstrate compliance with NERC PRC and MOD standards.
- Generate, monitor, and report progress on compliance activities, implementation plans, and mitigation plans for NERC Standards related to PRC and MOD.
- Review RSAWs, maintain and provide compliance evidence periodically in support of compliance readiness and internal and external audits.
- Acquire a thorough understanding of EDPR NA's assets and processes
- Establish effective relationships inside and outside of the company to ensure the department's objectives are achieved
- Assist Operations Support teams and the Lean team in identifying process improvements and developing solutions with an emphasis on NERC compliance
- Manage internal and external support, OEMs, and Engineering Service Providers performing bulk power system studies using power system modeling software, including PSCAD, PSLF, PSS/E, TSAT, etc.
- Perform onsite and remote NERC Compliance testing for renewable power generating plants for MOD-026/027
- Conduct engineering studies for new and emerging technologies such as inverters, wind turbines, or Bulk Energy Storage Systems, which may require interaction with equipment vendors to complete the analyses
- Gather, generate, and maintain data for engineering studies and NERC Compliance evidence
- Assist with monitoring the knowledge-sharing databases to include compliance efforts and other internal compliance tracking tools and provide suggestions for process improvements
- Assist in creating project scope of work and specifications documentation as necessary to ensure compliance obligations are being met
- Serve as a liaison between Operations Support Teams and various internal departments on technical and compliance issues
- Participate in various task forces related to RCA's, compliance investigations, and other operational investigations
- Assist with incorporating "Lessons Learned" in the Engineering Design Standards and Standard HV BOP Scope of Work documents from a compliance and operations perspective
- Work closely with ROCC, Performance Management, and Analysis teams to lead and develop periodic reports for monitoring NERC compliance in real time

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with power systems emphasis, or similar and equivalent related experience
- 2+ years of relevant maintenance, operations, design, or consulting experience, preferably including some NERC compliance responsibilities
- Experience performing and reviewing NERC Compliance Studies for NERC PRC-005, PRC-019, PRC-023, PRC-024, PRC-025, PRC-027, MOD-025, MOD-026, MOD-027 and MOD-032 NERC Reliability Standards
- Knowledge and experience with power systems simulation software such as PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, PSLF.
- Experience and familiarity with relays and protection systems compliance on high voltage substations
- Strong technical and report writing skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and preferred familiarity with SQL database applications,Business Intelligence and Business Management Systems (Appian, Tableau, OSI PI), and reporting tools & processes
