The Operations Accounting Manager serves as a member of the Operations Finance team who provides oversight and support to Darigold’s Plant team. The Operations Accounting Manager supervises a team of operation accountants and is responsible for executing accounting and control activities related to plant. Additionally, this role will develop process improvement initiatives, and be assigned various projects to support the overall Darigold Operations Finance and Accounting Teams.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations Accounting and can be based in Boise, ID or Seattle, WA.
This position will also be expected to provide finance operational support for the plant finance teams, understanding plant production processes and providing backup for support for plant finance teams as needed.
What you will do: (other duties may be assigned)
- Manage a team of Operations Accountants who provide support for plant controllers through the completion of shared plant accounting tasks; report consolidation, review, analysis, and distribution; and month end journal entries.
- Assist in the development of KPI metrics, tracking and reporting for the Operations Accounting team.
- Cover aspects of open controller positions as needed. This backup support may l include situations where travel is necessary to support plant needs.
- Operational Accounting project manager for process improvement initiatives that include ERP Upgrades and other system wide policy and project improvements.
- General Accounting: Ensure compliance with Darigold policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP with respect to period recognition of costs, capital vs. expense, accruals, etc. Implement Standard Operating Procedures and make recommendations to improve them for potential adoption across all plants.
- Internal Controls – In conjunction with Director of Operations Accounting, help assess execution of local internal control practices that support accurate financial reporting, data integrity, and safeguarding of assets at all plant locations.
- Review and approve balance sheet recons for the plant balance sheet accounts.
- Provide training, assess controls, and/or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for defined processes.
- Understand each production plant process to be a backup for the plant finance teams as necessary.
- Participate in the Darigold budgeting process as assigned.
- Provide audit support for both corporate and plant level audits as needed.
- Develop new reporting and journal entries as necessary.
What you will bring:
- Intermediate excel proficiency (creation of pivot tables, look up functions, troubleshoot formula errors)
- Internal control orientation
- Working experience with a mainstream ERP system – e.g. Oracle, SAP, JDE, etc.
- Possess a high level of initiative and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in all tasks
- Excellent ability to organize information, manages tasks and projects, and use available tools to effectively contribute to the organization.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Conveys information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Must be able to work on projects and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Willing to work occasional evenings/weekend-day/ to meet accounting deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or a related field and/or equivalent level progressive Accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred; Food Processing or Dairy experience desirable.

- Compensation range for candidates residing in Boise, ID area: $77,487-$116,231 (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
- Compensation range for candidates residing in Seattle, WA area: $91,161-$136,743 (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
