Summary
Under the direction of the Housing Department Manager, the Onsite House Manager will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and maintaining the Master Leased Permanent Housing property, a 18-bedroom residential program for single adult. This is a part- time live-on-site role that is responsible for the overall condition and environment of the building in which they reside. Responsible for and the first responder to after-hours and weekend property issues and emergencies. This position requires exacting attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and strong communication skills. Compensation for this position is by providing highly reduced or free housing in the building you're assigned to as a Resident Manager- occupancy rules apply.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a safe environment at all times, complying with Agency and industry standards and safety regulations.
- Responsible for property walk-throughs to ensure maintenance and upkeep meets company standards.
- Promptly and successfully respond to tenant complaints and work order emergencies during after-hours.
- Attend supervisions, meetings, and training.
- Resolve any after-hours lock outs, etc.
- May need to assist with building inspections with Property Coordinators
- Coordinate vendors and contractors in emergency situations
- Conduct hourly perimeter (interior/exterior) check of the property, documenting observations, information, and occurrences.
- Assisting clients in moving out, when applicable.
- Incumbent must display the ability to work effectively with adults with co-occurring substance use, history of abuse, as well as mental /physical/developmental disabilities.
- Establish positive relationships and maintain appropriate boundaries with participants and the community.
- Must be able to remain calm during emergency situations.
- Update staff and management of incidents or notable information through phone/ text and or email during shift hours.
- Contact appropriate staff, agencies, and/or law enforcement in the event of a critical incident.
- Assist in posting notices as directed by the Property Management team.
- Responsible for enforcing Apartment Rules as stated in the Lease Agreement
- Responsible for completing incident reports (as needed) and submitting them to the Property Manager in a timely manner.
- Ensures that the property is well-maintained, clean, and always inviting.
- Communicate with staff and all residents in a non-judgmental manner, work in a professional manner with all agency staff.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, residents, service providers and the community, maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Immediately contact the Program Manager/appropriate staff, agencies and/or law enforcement in the event of crisis and stabilize crisis situations until intervention on-call staff and/or emergency personnel responds.
- Adhere to and enforce all house rules.
- Maintain standardized operating procedures, safety of residents, program integrity, and a supportive and caring environment.
- Respond to after hour emergencies.
- Maintain files/records on client services in compliance with HIPAA, 42CFR Part 2 and other funding requirements for audit purposes.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries; adhere to Special Service for Groups Inc. and Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System’s Core Values.
- Represent the agency in a professional manner at meetings and community events.
- Regular attendance required.
- Must attend all assigned training courses (Relias, manager led trainings, etc.) and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years’ job-related experience working with homeless individuals.
- If in recovery, a minimum of three (3) years of being drug and alcohol free is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other database programs.
- Ability to work with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
- Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Clearance.
- TB test required (Not more than (3) month prior to or (7) days after Date of Hire and renewed annually thereafter).
- CPR and First Aid Certification required within 30 days of employment with company.
- Valid California driver license and proof of auto insurance.
- Reliable transportation.
- Required to reside on site.
Secondary Functions
- Perform other appropriate responsibilities as assigned by the Facility Supervisor, Operations Manager, Senior Manager, and/or Associate Director.
- Overtime, holiday, or weekend work is required as assigned.
Residential Information:
- Primary residency to be the SSG HOPICS Recovery Bridge Housing location.
- Part of compensation will be a master suite bedroom with bathroom, use of property utilities and internet.
- Use of facility appliances and amenities, for personal reasons, can only be conducted during off hours.
- Cable television or streaming subscriptions are not provided. Any possible installations will require management approval first.
- Any damages to the property caused by irresponsible and/or negligent behavior will be the sole responsibility of the incumbent, and any concluding consequences.
- Program participants are never allowed in the incumbents living quarters.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 5:00PM – 10:00PM
Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)
This position will require interactions with homeless individuals, individuals with severe mental and physical disabilities, the possibilities of individual with infectious diseases, and other possible dangerous associated with working in areas of high crime. You may be exposed to aggressive hostile clients.
Physical Requirements
The Staff Support Coordinator typically spends time sitting, standing, typing, thinking, writing, walking, carrying (max. 25 lbs.), listening, speaking. Driving required as needed.
Mental Requirements
This position will require the individual to be able to handle any/all the following: constant.
distractions, interruptions, uncontrollable changes in priorities/work schedules be able to process information, think and conceptualize. Incumbent must be ready to deal with traumas which may trigger personal trauma.
