Online Customer Service Specialist

Looking for an experienced Online Customer Service Specialist for a fun, eco-conscious e-commerce business headquartered in Valparaiso.

The main responsibility of a Customer Service Specialist at Mermaid Straw is to bring the best service to our Online Customers from around the world on a daily basis. This includes:
- Responding to Customer Service emails in a prompt courteous manner
- Responding to social media messages / comments
- Providing information regarding our company, our mission, and our products
- Providing timely resolutions to resolve customer concerns according to specified company policies with a positive attitude that fosters customer loyalty
- Learning and staying current and knowledgeable on all products, policies, and promotions to ensure proper and accurate customer education.
- Communicating via phone and email with USPS and other carriers
- Creating orders in Shopify
- Receive and process returned orders
- Maintain and order office supplies and refreshments
- Organize company events by coordinating with participating vendors and event locations

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals via phone, text & email, including customers and vendors.
- Great organization, time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Computer and internet savvy, and comfortable operating in several applications/social media platforms simultaneously.
- A “people person” who enjoys talking to and assisting others.
- Detail orientated
- Quick learner

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working within the Shopify platform is a plus
- Experience working within multiple social media platforms, including Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, X, & YouTube ideal.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

• Monday to Friday
