for the 2023-2024 School Year
Position: One on One Special Services Student Support Professional - at Gaines Elementary
Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Qualifications: Must have a degree OR 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university OR have taken or will take and pass the ETS Parapro test before being hired.
Job Functions: The SSSP works with students who have specific disabilities and may require assistance with medical, behavior, or academic support. The SSSP works individually with students and also with teachers and administrators.
  • Takes guidance from the classroom teacher, special education teacher, social worker, and principal
  • Ensure safety of student, including monitoring student at lunch/recess
  • Provide positive redirection and encouragement to engage in the classroom structures
  • Model, foster, and encourage positive engagement between student and classroom peers
  • Communicate with all stakeholders, including parent as directed
  • Assist in the carryover and independent utilization of ABA strategies being taught
  • Assist in the development of PBIS support structures.
  • Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required.

Student needs assistance with:

  • Working independently
  • Time on task support
  • Work completion support
  • Compliance both academically and behaviorally

Wage: $13.00 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
